Hat Care Guide

Keeping your Luxebrims hat in excellent condition is simple with the right tools and methods. Hats are crafted to last, and with a little care, you can ensure they remain a stylish part of your wardrobe for many years. Below are our recommended essentials for maintaining both felt and straw hats.

Essential Tools for Hat Care

Hat Brush

A soft-bristle hat brush is essential for removing dust and light dirt. For felt hats, brush gently in a counterclockwise motion, starting at the front and working around the crown and brim. Always move with the natural grain of the felt.
Tip: Brush before applying any cleaning products, and maintain one consistent direction to protect the surface.

Lint Roller

An easy way to remove lint, hair, or dust is with a lint roller. Compact rollers are perfect to keep in your bag or car. Frequent use will help maintain the freshness of your felt hat.
Tip: Tear off a sheet and press it gently into harder-to-reach spots, such as the crown.

Hat Sponge

A dry hat sponge is excellent for removing smudges, loose fibers, and small surface marks. It is particularly effective against light makeup stains.
Tip: Use one sponge for dark hats and a separate one for light hats to avoid transferring color.

Hat Stiffener Spray

If your hat begins to lose its shape, a quality stiffener spray can help restore structure. Clean your hat first, then hold the bottle 20–25 cm away and apply a light, even mist. Allow to dry fully before wearing again.

Sweatband Care

Over time, the sweatband absorbs oils, makeup, and perspiration. Wipe it down gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and allow it to air-dry naturally before storing or wearing again.

Caring for Straw Hats

Straw hats require a different approach from felt hats. To keep their shape and freshness:
  • Avoid exposing straw hats to excessive moisture.
  • Use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe away dust and light dirt.
  • Store your hat in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
